Routine hardware data

CPU/GPU readings, temperatures, memory and storage metrics, fan state and related diagnostic information are intended to be processed locally. HWcontrol2.0 does not intentionally collect or transmit unnecessary usage analytics, advertising identifiers or behavioral tracking data.

Network activity

Update checking may contact the configured GitHub release infrastructure over HTTPS. This is separate from uploading hardware telemetry. Users should review the source and release documentation for the behavior of the exact version they install.

Diagnostic exports

Logs and diagnostic bundles can contain usernames, local file paths, device identifiers, hardware details or other sensitive information. Inspect and redact a bundle before sharing it. Do not include passwords, API keys, bridge keys, private keys or signing credentials in a public issue or email.

Optional remote diagnostics

Do not assume that an optional gateway or future diagnostic service is enabled by default. Review the exact feature's consent prompt, data fields, retention policy and destination before opting in.

Limits

This project-level privacy description does not mean the operating system, drivers, GitHub, email provider or other software on the computer collect no data. Local-first design is not a substitute for reviewing the source and network behavior of the version you use.

For implementation details, see the security policy and source repository. Questions can be sent to hwcontrolteam@outlook.com.
